False Alarm

"SP1-PP3-PJ5"
Press 1-1-1-1-1 (I did 93)
Push Press 3-3-3-3-3 (I did 103)
Push Jerk 5-5-5-5-5 (I did 98) got very tired by the time I reached this lift!

Had a nice chat with 6 PM crew tonight. I love 6 PM! They truly keep me strong. We decided we needed to just chat more often so I think we will be going out for coffee and tea (black of course no cream or sugar added!) after our Saturday workouts. We also decided to limit our fruit intake this last month of the challenge to 1 serving a day and get the rest of our carbs from vegetables.

Rob and I signed up for the Komen 5K...very exciting! A little nervous too!

So at school today, a 2nd grader pulled the fire alarm. I have created little OCD monsters because when the alarm was going off, they were all like "Mrs. Reed!!!! This wasn't planned!!!" They love their routine! The fire department had to come and it caused this whole big mess, not to mention 20 minutes of valuable teaching time that was lost! Ahh!!! When we finally got back to class we had to have a whole discussion about why we never touch the alarm unless we see a fire. My kids were all like "Yeah...it wastes our time." I'm constantly telling them about how disruptions waste our time and now they are starting to repeat it.

Another funny thing is that my kids have started reporting to me what they ate for lunch because they know I am a health fanatic. This one little girl came up to me after lunch today and said "Umm...Excuse me...Mrs. Reed...I just want you to know that I ate all my healthy stuff at lunch today. I did have ships (she pronounces her "ch" sound like an "sh" so for chips she says ships), but I only ate 2 of them." She was so proud of herself.

Breakfast: smoothie

Snack: apple and almond butter

Lunch: turkey and squash

Dinner: Chicken and salad with lemon, mac. nuts

  1. I LOVE the ships story. A Cuban student who frequents the Library pronounces "ch" as "sh." When he took speech class I heard him utter "speesh" quite frequently. One day I called him on it because it tickled/s me so. We have since become friends. He occasionally posts the word "speeeeesh" on my facebook page. :) He also likes me to expand his vocabulary in order to Americanize him. One day I used the word voyeur; and asked me to define the word. I said, "a voyeur is someone who observes from the outside." I clearly have intellectualized this word, for when I looked it up in the dictionary to show him, I discovered the proper definition: "A person who derives sexual gratification from observing the naked bodies or sexual acts of others, especially from a secret vantage point."
